As we close in on our Member Service Requirement period which ends on June 30th, 2011, it’s important for Chapter members to ensure that their points are completed before that date.  I encourage you to take advantage of our seminars and accrue your MSR points now.  We’ve put together an interesting spring seminar on March 31st, with 3 points available.

Paul Giandomenico from Centinel Financial Group, LLC will be taking us through “Financial Retirement Planning” and John Scheffler from K-Vest has the latest K-Vest technology and findings from their research to share with us.

After the seminar, New Seabury Head Professional Brendan Reilly will be hosting an optional Pro-Pro 9 hole skins game.

Please email our Education Chairman, Danny Caverly @ dannyc007@msn.com if you plan to attend before the deadline of March 24th.  Bring a $25.00 check to cover the cost of lunch and seminar.   The seminar agenda is below.

Wessner Points Champion

Greg YeomansGreg Yeomans of the Bay Club at Mattapoisett has captured the Cape Cod Chapter of the New England PGA’s Wessner Player of the Year Award for 2009. Players earn points according to their performance in Cape Cod Chapter events during the year. Yeomans’ 108.33 points bested Rochester Golf Club head professional, Rusty Gunnerson, who was second in the standings with 84 points.

Over the 15 event schedule, Yeomans had four first place finishes, including the Match Play Championship, which is one of the Chapter’s two majors. In the other major event, the Chapter Stroke Play Championship, Yeomans finished in third place. Yeomans played in 10 Chapter events overall, logging two second place finishes as well. Last year Yeomans was edged out by just 5 points by Tom Tobey of Bay Point Country Club for the Player of the Year honors. The Chapter concluded the 2009 schedule last Thursday with a pro-am event at the Wianno Golf Club.
